Zini
Who am I?
No, it is not a philosophical question, just my bio
Viola Zini
I am first and foremost an observer, whom falls in love easily.
Then I am a curious designer, a passionate street photographer, an experimental videomaker and a secret writer.
I believe observation and curiosity are the first steps for great discoveries. To best research and elaborate a topic I am willing to fully immerse myself in it. Beginning by studying it from a distance: as if studying a wild animal, I like to see how it moves in a free environment, getting slowly closer and finally approach it, when possible.
My favourite subjects are in fact people. They may not be the wildest animal, but I love to study and understand their habits.
For this reason the majority of my projects are developed for the audience and the space it needs. I like to create from and for people's experiences. Interacting with one of my works always creates a unique experience and piece of art.
Developing works that require this interaction to come alive is, for me, a metaphor of the importance of human interaction in our daily life.
I believe this concept is even more important nowadays, and find its relevance during this pandemic period.
